Maddie, Samantha, Michael, John Derek |
As a child I remember going to my Grandparent's home in Tennessee. One evening Grandpa encouraged me to look outside. There I saw tiny lights flashing all over the field. It is my fist memory of "fireflies." I spent the week running after them and caching them in a jar hoping to make my own"firefly" lantern.
Not to long ago I introduced my children to catching fireflies. They loved it. When we arrived at the Lake House Friday it was evening and the kids saw the fireflies. They ran inside asked for a container and began catching fireflies. Samantha took Michael by the hand and I went with Maddie and we caught several. Put them into the container and hoped for a lantern.
We finally decided to let them go. It was a sweet moment for me to see them all huddled around the container, enjoying a piece of nature that Heavenly Father made for them and me. I am so blessed.
"26 And thus he went on, taking possession of many cities, the city of Nephihah, and the city of Lehi, and the city of Morianton, and the city of Omner, and the city of Gid, and the city of Mulek, all of which were on the east borders by the seashore."
Are
there any "cities" that we are not fortifying in our family? I do
think we need to have more fun as a family. More "wholesome
recreational activities." The Flylady suggests having Saturday be
"Family Fun Day." I think we need to find a way to do this. To have
fun at least once a week as a family.
