Two year olds/Light

Two year olds . . . what more can I say.  I turn my back for 3 min and this is what I come back to.  Got to love it!! Sunday the Relief Society lesson was good.  The sister talked about how when she was a teenager she spent every weekend at home.  That her friends never invited her to parties because she didn't drink.  She even considered drinking just so she could feel included.  Years later she met a friend from high school and confided in the friend how no one wanted her around.  The friend said, "Don't you know?  Don't you know that the reason we didn't want you around was because we felt ashamed and guilty and didn't want to do that in front of you?"  This sister said she was stunned.  She couldn't believe that her standards that she almost compromised were that infulential to those around her and it gave her a different persepctive. She then asked one of the girls that has just graduated from High School to tell what she did ...

Blessings/Example

Yesterday was a busy day and full of blessings.  The night before our water heater had started leaking.  I called our home warranty and they said they would send someone out the next day.  I spent the evening emptying buckets of water until Derek got home and figured out how to empty the tank with a hose.  What a smart man.     The morning started off with a phone call telling me someone was going to come look at my water heater.  Within an hour a nice gentleman was at my house and ordering a new tank.  I had an appointment with my therapist in the afternoon and felt that I didn't need to get a babysitter and would just take Michael with me.  When the gentelman said it would be 2-3 hours before he was finished, I knew that would overlap my appointment.  I called my sweet mother-in-law and she came right over so the tank could still be put in and I could go to my appointment.  That also ment that Mich...

Friend for Samantha/Anti-Nephi-Lehi's

We went to the pool Saturday and had fun.  Some of the kids invited friends over.  Samantha invited a friend that she really enjoys at school.  As the mom and I talked we found that our daughters had a lot in common.  More than just the she likes this but it was deeper.  They both have high anxiety, difficulty making and keeping friends, breakdowns, sweet and kind around those at school but different when they get home.  It was so refreshing to hear that Samantha is not alone.  It was comforting for me and for this girls mother.  It also made me realize why this friend has stayed with Samantha.  I thought she was just a sweet girl and was afraid Samantha would soon loose her but instead they work well together and can sympathize with each other.  It was such a great blessing for me.  What a sweet Heavenly Father I have. Michael giggled and giggled as he poured water on himself.  Such a delight. I read about the Anti-N...

$100/Example of Faith

I started a new medication a couple of weeks ago.  Monday afternoon the nausea from the medication really hit me and I was out for the week.  I had read that the nausea can last for 3-8 weeks and I really did not want to be in bed for that long.  Derek gave me a blessing.  He said that I would get better quickly.  Every day got a little better.  Even now the nausea is still there but I can function.  I will take this over what I experienced last week any day. John Derek wrote this paragraph at school, I thought it was so cute and I really wanted to share it. "My $100(0)" "If I had $100 I would spend it on things.  First, I would need to get up very early and go to Utah.  Next, I will go snowboarding when I get there and I will go with my grandpa.  Last, I will go snowmobiling with my Uncle Heber, he goes fast and far.  I Love . . . . . . . . $100." Sisters/Wendy Bennion an example of Patience

My sweet Samantha and Maddie made Family Home Evening treat.  I am delighted that they work so well together.  Such cuties!! Patience—A Heavenly Virtue Thomas S. Monson, October 1995 General Conference "Sometimes the tables are reversed. A dear and cherished young friend, Wendy Bennion of Salt Lake City, was such an example. Just the day before yesterday, she quietly departed mortality and returned “to that God who gave [her] life” ( Alma 40:11 ). She had struggled for over five long years in her battle with cancer. Ever cheerful, always reaching out to help others, never losing faith, her contagious smile attracted others to her as a magnet attracts metal shavings. While ill and in pain, a friend of hers, feeling...
