Tea with Grandma/A Feeling

The boys and Elizabeth went hunting so we had tea.  It was delightful.  So fun to be with Grandma and Aunt Annelise. Yesterday I had a sweet experience.  I had to get some new shoes and happened to be going by an old friend of mines home.  The thought came that I should go visit her.  I hadn't planned on it and had a lot of errands but felt this was direction from the Spirit so I went.  As I drove up to her house there was a car stuck in her grass.  A woman who had come to visit my friend missed the driveway and was now in the grass with her tires spinning.  She said that my friend was in the shower so the two of us tried to get her out with no luck.  A few minutes later my friend came out with wet hair and tried to help.  She mentioned that someone was coming over and it might cause a problem if this friend of hers was here when they arrived.  We prayed to get the car out but instead I felt that I should offer this...

Potty Training/Miracle

While Michale was taking a bath he insisted that I take his picutre several times.  He loved looking at them and laughing.  We began the potty training process.  We were supposed to begin yesterday morning but had to run to the store, then go visiting teaching, we didn't get home until 11:00.  He had the beginnings of a cold and didn't feel good so I decided to put him down for a nap before we started.  I woke him up and began the training.  He did not like the idea of taking his diaper off at all.  He was tired and still sleepy.  I prayed for inspirtaion and had the idea to use a doll.  I grabbed a doll and had it sit on the potty and do funny things around the potty.  Michael loved it.  He thought it was do funny. This coupled with a TV bribe and candy got him to put on underwear and sit on the potty.  He spend the rest of the day in underwear.  The kids were very encouraging and happy to give him his pump...

John Derek's Growing Up/Healing the Afflicted

John Derek came home from school happy.  But within minutes was getting frustrated.  Nothing was going right and he was mad.  I finally sent him to his room.  A little while later he came down much more calm and said that he needed to talk to me.  He remembered that if he gets mad afterschool it is because something went wrong and school and he needs to talk about it.  So we went and got ice cream and picked Elizabet up from practice.  I was so proud of him for remembering to come talk to me.  I had even forgotten that.  But we talked, he got it out and then we had good discussions while we drove.   That evening I gave John Derek a hair cut.  In the middle of the cut he said, "I want to marry a wife that can cut hair, or maybe I can cut the hair, but one of us can cut hair."  We then discussed what he wanted in a wife, "Someone who reads her scriptures, is strong in the church, is good."  I was so impressed with ...

Every Day Miracles/Power in Motherhood

I went to the grocery store.  It is so easy for me to spend money at the grocery store.  I have gotten into the habit of praying before I go to the store, that I won't buy stuff that we don't need and that I will use the money wisely that my Heavenly Father has given our family.  As I prayed I asked that I would spend around $150.00.  I did not have time to add things up as I went along.  I had to grab what I needed and then get to preschool to pick up Maddie.  I rushed through getting most of what I had planned and a few extras that I felt we needed.  When I got to the register to pay the cashier said: "That will be One Fifty and Twenty One."  I looked at the register in shock.  Sure enough the total was $150.21.  I felt so blessed.  Just another miracle that God is there, He is listening and I am important to Him as are YOU!! About fifty years ago, Mr. F. M. Bareham wrote the following:  "A century ago men were follow...

Miracles/Service

Friday evening Derek and John Derek were at a camp out for the Father's and Son's.  I had been busily running people and things all over and was ready to settle down.  Michael had been in the car with me and needed to get out some energy.  I gave Maddie and Michael a ride in the wagon and then we went in the back yard to play.  We have an awesome play set that my husband built when we moved in.  It is right off the deck and has swings and a twisty slide and a rock wall and more.  I got distracted by the weeds growing in my garden and just allowed the two to play.  Then I heard a eery cry and then silence.  I turned around to find Michael and he was no where to be seen.   I ran and found him at the bottom of the 7 foot climbing wall face down in the dirt but crying.  He was okay.  A little scratch on his nose but miraculously fine.  After texting Derek we decided it would be best to take him to the ER just in case....

Morh, morh, morh/shoulder/Swearing

I was getting dinner ready when Michael came up to me wanting food.  I gave him about 8 mini rice cakes to pacify him until dinner.  He ate those and then signed for more.  I then gave him a banana and he ate the whole thing.  Again, he signed more.  I gave him a cheese stick thinking surely this will fill him up and he will be okay until dinner.  Again, "Morh, morh, morh, by this time I had finished the hot dogs and cut it up and put it on his plate.  I got the hamburgers off the grill came back and the hot dog was gone.  "Morh, morh, morh, so another hot dot went on his plate, the one pictured, and he finished it in no time.  I was running out of ideas and hot dogs.  I gave him a can of carrots which he at half of then fingered the rest until we all sat down for dinner.  Then he finished the carrot and ate a hamburger bun.  No wonder this child weighs almost 30 pounds and my arms and back are killing me. Last night I had...
