Christmas Eve/Be Prepared

Christmas Morning we all gather at the top of the stairs.  Dad then checks to make sure that Santa has come while the children find excuses to take another step down the stairs.  We always go oldest to youngest.  I wondered why until I realized that Michael would be trampled by the older ones if he was first.  We then play with our Santa gifts and bake the quiche and sweet rolls prepared the night before.  After a little while we open our other gifts.  Grandma Dew got us these snuggly warm blankets. Derek was sweet and took me shopping for a coat, we found one at Good Will for $10.00 and then went to the store and found another one.  Early in December a huge packaged arrived.  It was bout 4'x3'.  When I opened the box I found another box about 3'x2' inside was a cute Minnie Mouse Umbrella.  What a sweet husband I have. Smiles/Strong

Elizabeth has had a hard time coming home and adjusting to real life after being at Aspen Grove with her cousins and new found friends.  She really enjoyed it up there.  But as Michael does he can put a smile on anyone's face even for early morning scripture study and jet lag. Book of Mormon, 3 Nephi 7:21 "21  And it came to pass that the thirty and first year did pass away, and there were but few who were converted unto the Lord; but as many as were converted did truly signify unto the people that they had been visited by the power and Spirit of God, which was in Jesus Christ, in whom they believed." They had to be strong in order to be prepared for the coming of Christ and to stand up in such a wicked world. Much like we are being asked to do today.

Elizabeth/Prosper in the Land

Elizabeth is darling.  She is working so hard at her athletic interests.  She is really pushing her self in swimming and at this last meet she improved her time in all four strokes.  She is working really hard in volleyball and despite having a lot of inexperienced players on her league team she is cheering them on and trying to help them improve.  She is a wonderful girl and I am so proud of her.  I am grateful to be her mother.   Book of Mormon, Alma 48:15 "15  And this was their faith, that by so doing God would prosper them in the land, or in other words, if they were faithful in keeping the commandments of God that he would prosper them in the land; yea, warn them to flee, or to prepare for war, according to their danger;" June 2015 ...
