Sour Candy/Temptation

Elizabeth told me to watch her eat this sour candy.  I grabbed the camera eager for a classic sour face.  But to no luck.  She kept her composure well especially with the added knowledge that I was going to put this on my blog.   Today I read a talk given by Linda K. Burton the Relief Society General President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. ( click here to read/listen to this talk) I recently met a dear new friend. She testified that after she had received her temple endowment, she felt strengthened with the power to resist temptations she had previously struggled with .--I have to admit that a temptation I have that I find very difficult to overcome is eating.  I love to eat, and not just because food is good but because I truly feel addicted to it.  I can be bursting at the seams and still want to put something in my mouth.  I justify why it is okay to eat all the time.  I can't by snacks for our home bec...

Christmas Tree/Sleep/Appetite

We went and got our Christmas Tree.  We always go to the same Christmas Tree lot every year.  They have a rope swing that keeps the kids occupied while Derek and I look for a tree.  This year we invited our friend Keith and his dog Sarah to join us. I usually pride myself in not being picky and quickly choosing a tree.  This year however I had a much more difficult time.  I finally just let Derek and Elizabeth decide and we came home with a great tree.  (It was one of the first ones I picked out but others didn't like it.) We came home and had hot chocolate and peanut butter cookies that Elizabeth had made.  It was a great Family Home Evening. Maddie often has a hard time sleeping at night because of bad dreams.  Tonight she came in our room at 3:30.  Usually she just sleeps on our floor and everything is fine but tonight she didn't got back to sleep.  Finally at 4:30 I had her come in another room with me and I read scri...

Family/My Body is a Temple

I got a little behind because of Thanksgiving.  I wanted to include a few photos of some things that happened. Maddie had a Thankful Feast at school.  She chose to be a pilgim and loved it.  It was so cute to see her sing her songs about eating Mr. Turkey.  Then the children said a blessing on the food.  We had fun. The following are pictures of the kids with their dad and their Aunt KoKo.  We had a party for KoKo, Derek and Michael's Birthdays. Today I read part of a talk given by Elder Russel M. Nelson of the Quarom of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. ( click here to read/listen/watch) With your body being such a vital part of God’s eternal plan, it is little wonder that the Apostle Paul described it as a “temple of God.” 14 Each time you look in the mirror, see your body as your temple. That truth—refreshed gratefully each day—can positively influence your decisions about how you wi...
