Christmas Eve/Be Prepared

Christmas Morning we all gather at the top of the stairs.  Dad then checks to make sure that Santa has come while the children find excuses to take another step down the stairs.  We always go oldest to youngest.  I wondered why until I realized that Michael would be trampled by the older ones if he was first.  We then play with our Santa gifts and bake the quiche and sweet rolls prepared the night before.  After a little while we open our other gifts.

Grandma Dew got us these snuggly warm blankets.
Derek was sweet and took me shopping for a coat, we found one at Good Will for $10.00 and then went to the store and found another one.  Early in December a huge packaged arrived.  It was bout 4'x3'.  When I opened the box I found another box about 3'x2' inside was a cute Minnie Mouse Umbrella.  What a sweet husband I have.

Eyes to See and Ears to Hear

" Whatever level of spirituality or faith or obedience we now have, it will not be sufficient for the work that lies ahead. We need greater spiritual light and power. We need eyes to see more clearly the Savior working in our lives and ears to hear His voice more deeply in our hearts."
  • What do I need to do?  This seems overwhelming.
"We do not have to be perfect, but we need to be good and getting better. We need to strive to live the plain and simple truths of the gospel. If we take upon us the name of Christ, act with faith in Him to repent of our sins, keep His commandments, and always remember Him, we will receive the companionship of the Holy Ghost through the mercy and grace of Jesus Christ."
  • I like that. That is doable. I don't have to be perfect I just have to keep getting better. As I continue to try and do what the Spirit tells me I will be okay.
