Derek/Revelation for Women

I cannot say it enough!  I LOVE MY HUSBAND!!!  He is truly amazing.  Last night he came home cheerful and upbeat.  And no matter what hit him he regrouped and continued to be positive and happy.  I went into full depression and we had several moody people but he kept his calm and worked with us.  Never criticizing only loving and helping.  He is so good.  I am so thankful for Him.  I am so grateful to a kind and loving Heavenly Father who gave this man to me.  Life is so much better because of Him.

I love these two pictures.  Michael wanted the kite and Derek could see that I was going to take a picture so he knelt down just for me and was helping Michael.  Right after I snapped this picture Michael let go of the kite and it went flying off.  All we could do was laugh.

"he imparteth his word by angels unto men, yea, not only men but women also."
I find this comforting. Women are not mentioned often in scripture. It is assumed that the audience is men and women. But here Alma distinctly mentions women. I fear that some women don't understand that they can receive revelation, that they can receive answers to prayers. This shows a very loving Heavenly Father giving His daughters no doubt that He is mindful of them and wants them to reach out to Him and promising they will receive answers.

I know that my Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers.  I have received revelation on numerous occasions.  I am constantly in communication with my Father in Heaven.  He is my best friend and does not criticize me only helps me a long.  I am so grateful for His love and His support.  I could not do this life without Him in it.

WE ARE EXPECTING BABY #5

Yes, you read it correctly. The Thornton Family is expecting a new baby in Dec. 2012. We are very excited. Today we made the announcement to our 4 children and I am sure that each of you heard their screams of excitement. Maddison immediately told us that it was going to be a boy but then after a few minutes decided that we need one boy and one girl. John Derek would like the baby to be a boy so that he can have a brother. Samantha would like the baby to sleep in her room. Elizabeth would like the baby to have brown hair so that more kids in the family would look like her. Then the conversation turned to names. Here are some of their favorites: Elizabeth wants: Sarah, Eva, Evelyn, or Eve, and if it is a boy Phineas or Ferb Samantha wants: Sam or Ammon John Derek wants: Johnny Maddison wants: Cinderella and Johnny So here we go. Taking on a new adventure of 5 children with faith that we are following our Father in Heaven's desires for our family. In this last conference Pres. P...

My Daughter/Compliments From Up Above

Sunday I took a walk with the kids up to the park.  Elizabeth started to complain about how hard things are because we have such a big family and how if we wouldn't have had as many children as we do things would be so much easier for her.  I remember feeling the same way when I was her age. I said a silent prayer for the right words to say.  We talked about how the person who makes her the most happy is Michael.  She loves to be with him.  The first person she wants to see in the morning is him, when she gets home from school he is the first to get a hug.  She is really good at taking care of him and helping him with his needs.  She is such a nurturer and will make a fantastic mom.  If anyone needs a good babysitter I highly recommend her. As we talked her heart was touched.  I love it when as a mother you can reach into your child's soul and help sooth a trouble.  I was grateful for that experience. The Infinite Atonement (...

Depression

These past few days have been difficult emotionally.  Not nearly as bad as they could be but still very annoying.  I am tired and moody.  I have been trying to exercise daily and to keep busy but the week is just dragging on and I am grumpy.  One of the hardest things for me during this time is not being able to hear the promptings of the Holy Ghost.  It makes me anxious and I feel lost, that I don't know what to do, that I don't know what is important or where to step.  I know that this will soon pass but it is hard to deal with it sometimes.  I wish I could just curl up in bed and stay there until I felt better but I know this is not possible and it probably isn't the healthiest thing either. My friend shared this video with me about Depression.  I really liked how there were so many truths portrayed, so many examples of how I feel as well as good solutions and the truth that this can be overcome, not gone but controlled.  It is entitled:...
