While Michale was taking a bath he insisted that I take his picutre several times. He loved looking at them and laughing.
We began the potty training process. We were supposed to begin yesterday morning but had to run to the store, then go visiting teaching, we didn't get home until 11:00. He had the beginnings of a cold and didn't feel good so I decided to put him down for a nap before we started.
I woke him up and began the training. He did not like the idea of taking his diaper off at all. He was tired and still sleepy. I prayed for inspirtaion and had the idea to use a doll. I grabbed a doll and had it sit on the potty and do funny things around the potty. Michael loved it. He thought it was do funny.
This coupled with a TV bribe and candy got him to put on underwear and sit on the potty. He spend the rest of the day in underwear. The kids were very encouraging and happy to give him his pumpkin whenever he would sit on the potty. He still has not gone on the potty but I have great hope.
This is a blog entry I started when Elizabeth was in 4th grade in 2008. I ran across it today and wanted to finish it.
At the beginning of the school year I volunteered to go on Elizabeth's field trip to the coast of North Carolina. We would ride a bus 3 hours down, tour an aquarium, get on a boat and go to an island off the coast of NC to visit marshlands. I was really looking forward to this experiance until I became pregnant and had morning sickness. I was very sick. Going on a bus, a boat, and the ocean smell did not apeal to me. But I still wanted to go. With lots of prayers and blessings I started the trip.
It was amazing. I was great. As long as I kept some food on my stomach I wasn't sick. I did the bus just great, the boat just fine, loved the island we visited with the cool crabs, loved hanging out with Elizabeth and getting to know her friends and teachers better. It was delightful.
I thought I had turned a corner in my morning sickness but when I woke up the next morning I was sick again. I realized what a tender mercy that field trip had been. My Father in Heaven is so kind and loving.
