For Valentines my hubby took me out to dinner and the temple. A friend of mine who was working in the temple said, "This is the best reservation in town." I had to agree.
We had more snow days. My kids were off Wed, Thurs, and Fri. They do have a make up day tomorrow and they are going.
The snow was so bad Wed. that hubby took 3 1/2 hours to get home. I was a nervous wreck. I wandered the house, cleaned a little, ate lots, and prayed continually. It was a blessing he got home. I was grateful for his 4 wheel drive and grateful for all the prayers from parents and loved ones that got him home safe. I didn't let go of him all night long.
The next morning work had been canceled and he played with the kids all morning. They loved it. Our neighbors let us borrow their shovels so that we could shovel our driveway. Derek and I worked on it together. When we finished we decided to do our other neighbors driveway anonymously. As we worked I wondered if it would have an impact on our neighbors. Then John Derek came by with his sled. He looked at us and realized we were not doing our driveway. He said, "You are doing that to be nice? You aren't getting payed? You are doing that for free?" After answering him "Yes" he said, "I knew you would do that because you go to church." I realized that the greatest impact I was having was upon my son and I wouldn't have it any other way.
The Infinite Atonement, (Illustrated Edition) by Tad R. Callister
pg. 108--Quoting Truman Madsen, "I bear testimony that you cannot sink farther than the light and sweeping intelligence of Jesus Christ can reach. I bear testimony that as long as there is one spark of the will to repent and to reach, he is there. He did not just descend to your condition; he descended below it, 'that he might be in all and through all things, the light of truth.' (D&C 88:6)"
What a powerful quote. To think that no matter how bad me or anyone sins we can be forgiven, that the Savior has gone lower than that and redeemed us. It gives me hope for the whole human race.

The two snowmen are married. The one on the right is Olof and the one on the left is his wife. |
Michael even joined in the fun. Elizabeth is with him and daddy is in the background with JD and our neighbors. |
