Happy Father's Day/Heavenly Father

Happy Father's Day!!   Happy Father's Day to the best man in the world.  How grateful I am to have such a wonderful husband.  His love and dedication to our family and to the gospel is amazing and appreciated.  Our family is so blessed to have him in our lives. Also Happy Father's Day to my father's.  My Father who has taught me so much and loved me for so long.  He is an amazing example of one who is dedicated to the Lord.  He has been a true blessing to me and my life and raising me to love the Lord.  To my Father in Law who is so kind and caring.  His love and appreciation is continually felt.  Happy Father's Day to my Heavenly Father.  I am so grateful to Him for ALL He has given me.  The blessings and joy I have in this life are because of Him.  His willingness to sacrifice His son that I may return to Him someday, is so sweet and kind.  I am so blessed to know His gospel and to know that I am His...

Pinewood Derby/Sweet Heavenly Father

Last night was John Derek's first Pinewood Derby.  Daddy and him made a car called "The Mobster."  I was so impressed with John Derek, his car did not perform very fast but he won the award for the most original.  He went around telling me and everyone else the rest of the night that he won the award for the most realistic car.  He was quite proud.   Book of Mormon, Alma 34:4 "4  Yea, even that ye would have so much faith as even to plant the word in your hearts, that ye may try the experiment of its goodness." I am amazed at how little God requires to start the process of faith and gaining a testimony. All you need is hope a desire.   Book of Mormon, Alma 34:16 "16  And thus mercy can satisfy the demands of justice, and en...

Sweet Kids/Remembering the Sacrament

Michael is a lot of fun.  He walks around outside pointing at dead bugs and saying EWWWW!  Samantha was so sweet yesterday.  I had assigned her to clean the playroom and she spent well over half an hour reading books to Michael.  He was in heaven. The kids love to meet Daddy in the street and ride the back of the truck into the driveway. The Infinite Atonement, (illustrated Edition), by Tad R. Callister pg. 298--"Each week a feast is served at sacrament meeting.  Speakers, music, and prayers are integral parts of this meeting, but they are not the main course.  The music might be discordant, the speakers monotonous--and yet those who come to the sacrament table hungry still can be filled.  Any man or woman who comes to sacrament meeting hungering and thirsting for spiritual food will find refreshment and nourishment for his or her soul." I can always benefit from a spiritual feast but I know that when I go to church my soul needs to be s...

Michael/Patience

Michael loves to say prayers.  When it is time to go to bed he folds his arms and says "ahr."  We say a prayer and he laughs and smiles.  When it is time to eat he always reminds us to bless the food and sometimes has so much fun praying that he wants us to do it again and again.  Our food is very blessed. He also loves daddy's truck.  Whenever he sees a bladk truck on the road he points to it and says "dayie tuk, bye, bye, dayie" then waves his hands good bye.  When daddy comes home he is the first to greet him and always wants a ride in the truck. Patience  Elder Neal A. Maxwell  "Moreover, patience will not be an obsolete attribute in the next world!" We will have to have patience in the next life which doesn't surprise me knowing...

Three Bears/Stewardship

Over the weekend we went to a place called The Three Bears.  They had lots of fun for us all to do.  Despite a case of the grumpy's when we arrived by the end everyone had fun. Maddie in a mud kitchen.  Life is sweet. Michael found a toys with noise in a sand box.  He couldn't be happier. Samantha taking aim before her big shot. Elizabeth trying her skill with the bow. Daddy and John Derek after their paddle boat ride. M. Russell Ballard, The Sacred Responsibilities of Parenthood As clearly stated in the proclamation on the family, men and women, though spiritually equal, are entrusted with different but equally significant roles. These roles complement each other. Men are given stewardship over the sacred ordinances of the priesthood. To women, God gives stewardship over bestowing and nurturing mortal life, including providing physical bodies for God’s spirit children and guiding those children toward a knowledge of gospel trut...
