I have the best mom ever. Today is her Birthday. Happy Birthday Mom!!!
I love that my mom reads my blog. Many times she will call me up and talk to me about what I wrote. One time she called me as I drove home from the temple. She said, "I almost called your earlier but thought that you would still be at the temple." "How did you know I was at the temple?" I asked. "Your blog!!" I had written a few days before that I would go to the temple and she remembered. What a sweet woman.
Saturday night was another example of her sweetness. She called all excited, "I found 3 names for Elizabeth." "What?" I asked. "You said on your blog that you wanted Elizabeth to have names to take to the temple when she turns 12 so I found 3 names. Now we just need to get her and me on the phone and on the computer and I will show her how to find the names and then she can take them to the temple." What a sweet mom. She was fulfilling my desire even though we are so far away. We worked it out that we could meet online Sunday afternoon. She worked with Elizabeth for about an hour and a half and sure enough came away with 3 names she will take to the temple when she turns 12. How exciting!! What a great mom!!

Chapter 5: Faith and Repentance
"The Lord intends that men shall be happy—that is his purpose—but men refuse to be happy and make themselves miserable, because they think their ways are better than God’s ways, and because of selfishness, greed, and the wickedness that is in their hearts; and that is the trouble with us today. 26"
I
totally agree. It is the trouble with all of us. There are so many
times when I don't agree with what the Spirit is directing me to do. I
want to do it my way. It is like my little Michael who just wants to go
play ball "ba" outside. He doesn't understand that there are men
remodeling the house next door and it is dangerous with all the trucks
and machines in use for him to be running around. But I really am
trying to keep him safe and happy. I may not understand the why of what
the Lord is doing but I am trying to accept it without complaint and
continue faithful.
