Labor Day/Mormon

We went to the Lake for Labor Day.  It was fun to be with family and to play in the water.  Mormon 1:15  "15  And I, being fifteen years of age and being somewhat of a sober mind, therefore I was visited of the Lord, and tasted and knew of the goodness of Jesus." Mormon had to know that God was real at a very early stage. Just like Joseph Smith, Mormon was going to be put through a lot of persecution and he needed a strong knowledge to keep him on the right path and help him stand up to the wickedness that surrounded him.

Joseph Smith/God's Love

A few weeks ago John Derek had to give a talk in church about Joseph Smith .  We reviewed the story of the First Vision together and he knew it.  Then when we were in Sacrament Meeting he decided he wanted to write his talk down.  This is what he wrote: "Joseph Smith--He looked around for a church and he didn't know what church was true.  So he read the scriptures and found out how to pray and he prayed in the woods for which church she should go to and Jesus and God came down and Joseph Smith got to see them and they said no church is true so he built one." I was so proud of him.  He really did a good job.  It is sweet for a mother to see that the things she is teaching are sinking in.  What a blessing he is to our family and what a great missionary he will make. Book of Mormon, Alma 26:12 "12  Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast o...

Bribe Bucket/Joseph Smith

My sweet mom sent us a bribe bucket.  She had taken little trinkets and wrapped them up and put them in the bucket to use as bribery.  It arrived just in time.  The kids had a bast picking u each package and guessing what was in it.  We were able to get everything cleaned up with almost no complaining.  It was delightful.  We still have several unopened items and the kids keep fingering them and asking when they can open another one.  Thanks Mom!! Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith—History 1:29 "night, I betook myself to prayer and supplication to Almighty God for forgiveness of all my sins and follies, and also for a manifestation to me, that I might know of my state and standing before him; for I had full confidence in obtaining a divine manifestation, as I previously had one." Thanksgiving

We are in Virginia celebrating Thanksgiving with my extended family.  It is such a joy to be with family.  I love it.  I love that I have Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Sisters, and In-laws so close to me.  Family is such a joy to me.  I love that my kids have my cousins to play with.  They have been running around the house in complete joy and happiness.  Big families are great because there is always someone you can play with.   We took a picture of all the babies.  Michael is my youngest and these lovely ladies are just at the beginning of their mothering adventure with their second.  But so fun to have friends to play with.   Wednesday we sang to Michael here is the video:   Today I read a talk by Elder Adrian Ochoa of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. ( click here to read/listen/watch) Jesus Christ , who was perfect, and Joseph Smith, who admitted that he himself was not, we...
