Magic Kingdom/Perfectionism

Our Second Day in Disney began at the Magic Kingdom.  We were tired from the day before but got up and pressed forward knowing that we would get to return to the hotel and rest.  After several rides we ended up at Be Our Guest Restraunt.  We were here for the ambiance and so just ordered cupcakes there was one that even boasted "try the gray stuff it's delicious, don't believe me ask the dishes."

We were in the Beast's Room and sat right next to the rose.  There was continaul thunder and lightning going on and it made Michael very uncomfortable.  He wouldn't eat his cup cake so we got out the ear protectors I had gotten.  As soon as we put them on he smiled a huge smile and began to sing "Under the Sea" as we had just gotten off that ride.  The ear protectors were a huge hit throughout the trip.

One of Elizabeth's favorite princesses is Bell.  She was in Seventh Heaven.

After Be Our Guest we returned to the hotel and took a much needed nap.  We wanted to be rested so that we could stay up late and enjoy the fireworks.  By the time we made it back to Magic Kingdom it was crowded and miserable.  Too many people, especially pushing a wheelchair and stroller.  We got to go on Splash Mountain one of my favorites and Thunder Mountain where I got quite frustrated with the whole idea of being in a wheelchair only to be blessed to go to the front of the line and be given 7 passes to get on whatever ride we wanted.  We felt that the Lord was truly looking out for us.

As we stayed for the fireworks and parade we were able to find a wonderful place to sit for the parade it was such a blessing.  Then we wanted to see the fireworks but had to move and that was a nighmare.  Too many people and we could not get anywhere.  Derek and I were separaed everyone was tired and frustrated and it was wall to wall peopole.  We finally found a spot and put the wheelchair and stoller in a little alcove not too far away.  The fireworks were beautiful and we felt so blessed that we could sit down and watch them.  Afterwards we returned to the alcove only to find our stroller gone including two of our new waterbottles.  We were dissapointed and frustrated by this point.  But as Derek said, "Some one stole our stroller!" am eployee came up and told us she would get another for us, to just wait there.  Sure enough she fought the crowds and got us another stroller as well as a certificate for 7 bottles of water and 2 new water bottles.  I though that was very sweet.

Taking the Train to Frontier Land!
The plan was to then shop and not join the crowds of people leaving but we were all exhausted and the stores were so crowded that we gave up, waited in the huge long lines and returned to the hotel determined never to go to a park when it would be that crowded again!!  And grateful that we could sleep in tomorrow.

It Works Wonderfully!

"I learned in my life that we don’t need to be “more” of anything to start to become the person God intended us to become.

God will take you as you are at this very moment and begin to work with you. All you need is a willing heart, a desire to believe, and trust in the Lord."

I need to remember this. My perfectionism wants me to "wait" until I get such and such done then I can focus on improving. But what a blessing to know that God will work with me now without me having to become more perfect. He will take my imperfections and help me to change and grow and become the woman He sees that I can be.

WE ARE EXPECTING BABY #5

Yes, you read it correctly. The Thornton Family is expecting a new baby in Dec. 2012. We are very excited. Today we made the announcement to our 4 children and I am sure that each of you heard their screams of excitement. Maddison immediately told us that it was going to be a boy but then after a few minutes decided that we need one boy and one girl. John Derek would like the baby to be a boy so that he can have a brother. Samantha would like the baby to sleep in her room. Elizabeth would like the baby to have brown hair so that more kids in the family would look like her. Then the conversation turned to names. Here are some of their favorites: Elizabeth wants: Sarah, Eva, Evelyn, or Eve, and if it is a boy Phineas or Ferb Samantha wants: Sam or Ammon John Derek wants: Johnny Maddison wants: Cinderella and Johnny So here we go. Taking on a new adventure of 5 children with faith that we are following our Father in Heaven's desires for our family. In this last conference Pres. P

Elizabeth

My darling Elizabeth is so wonderful.  At Church I had the pleasure of talking to different people about the great girl she is.  I was in the mother's room, feeding Michael, and talked to two other moms.  We were discussing the joys and difficulties of raising children.  I talked about how I couldn't do it without my Elizabeth.  How she is my right hand.  She is so good and stepping in and making breakfast or lunch.  She loves to make pancakes with chocolate chips.  She is great with Michael.  I know that I can give him to her and he will be well taken care of.  As soon as we pull into the garage she exclaims, "I'll get Michael!" then leaps out of the car and takes him out.  I don't know what I would do without her.  When Michael was first born and I was constantly feeding, sleeping, and trying to hold the house together she did so much.  She was such a huge help.  She is going to be a great mother some day.  She is so good at talking to children and
