Michael loves his dad. It is so fun to see the two of them together. Michael had brought the book "Brown, Bear, Brown, Bear" to Derek. Derek read it and then offered other books but Michael would push the other books away and go back to "Brown Bear." I am eternally grateful to my Heavenly Father for a wonderful husband he is so kind and loving to me and to his children. He is continually and unselfishly giving of his time and energy. He is a great example to me of love and sacrifice. How blessed I am to be married to such a wonderful man.
The Infinite Atonement (Illustrated Edition,) by Tad R. Callister:
Pg. 163-165--"The compelling, driving force behind [the Savior's] sacrifice was love, not duty or glory or honor or any other temporal reward. It was love in its purest, deepest, most enduring sense . . . He gave until there was nothing left to give . . . The Savior's love was not a love for the righteous only; it was not an abstract love; nor was it demonstrated by one dramatic sacrificial act and nothing more. To the contrary, it was a day-by-day, hour-by-hour, even moment-by-moment love!. . . As naturally and regularly as we seek air, he sought to bless. Again and again in those moments of physical exhaustion and pressing "agendas" he was there for the one--to listen, to love, and to bless."
What a great example my Savior is to me. As I read about His love for all of us I am reminded of myself and how I need to love my family. How I need to love them and help them not out of duty or honor or any other temporal reward but to just love purely and eternally. I need to love them hour by hour, moment by moment not just when I have time, or it fits into the schedule. I know the more love I show to my family the more our family will love each other.
