Pictures and Blessings

These are a few examples of what my kids do with my phone when they get their hands on it.  Got to love them!!

Today I feel the need to be grateful . . .

I really do have the best husband in the world, others may say theirs is the best but I will rebuttle with:  He is perfect for me!!

Elizabeth is beautiful and has a good spirit.  Yesterday she played outside for a long time then came in and started doing Family History without me saying anything.

Samantha is supper helpful getting the children to play together and not whine.

John Derek loves candy.  It is amazing what he will do for a jolly rancher.

Maddie loves to love.  If I am frustrated she will immediatly come over to me and in her sweet girly voice tell me how much she loves me.

Michael loves to laugh.  He is always doing something funny and he makes the whole family stop arguing and start to laugh.

My mom is amazing and so willing to listen to what is going on.  She feels so helpless being so far away but I can feel her prayers and her love and they get me through the day.

My dad is awesome.  He heard me complaining the other day and sent me an email with an idea to cheer me and Elizabeth up.  So sweet.

My inlaws are amazing.  Mom T. takes Michael for a whole day so that I can get things done.  Dad T. is always there with a hug and a genuin, "I Love You, Lexia."  I am so blessed.

My sister in law is so sweet and always supporting me and encouraging me with words of wisdom, council and praise.

I have an amazing mentor who knows just how I feel and can give me great advice and council.  It is so nice to have her to turn to and follow after her example.

The Temple.  I get to go there today and am so looking forward to the calming of the Spirit and the Peace of my Father in Heaven.

I love nature, it is so nice that Spring is finally coming.  I have been able to be outside, enjoy the trees, the water, the sun.  I love listening to the birds and seeing blue jays, blue birds, robins, cardinals, sparrows, squirrels, deer, hawks, etc.  I just am in awe of how much nature I see here in North Carolina that I would never see other places I have lived.

My Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ.  I am grateful for the testimony I have of them.  How they love me and support me.  They send angles when I am depressed, they send children who make me laugh, they support my feelings and lift me up when I can no longer stand.

"37  And now, my brethren, seeing we know these things, and they are true, let us repent, and harden not our hearts, that we provoke not the Lord our God to pull down his wrath upon us in these his second commandments which he has given unto us; but let us enter into the rest of God, which is prepared according to his word."
I look forward to the rest of God. I am grateful that there will be a rest. Sometimes I get tired of fighting but the hope of the future with God keeps me going. His Son's Atonement gives me the strength to go on.

WE ARE EXPECTING BABY #5

Yes, you read it correctly. The Thornton Family is expecting a new baby in Dec. 2012. We are very excited. Today we made the announcement to our 4 children and I am sure that each of you heard their screams of excitement. Maddison immediately told us that it was going to be a boy but then after a few minutes decided that we need one boy and one girl. John Derek would like the baby to be a boy so that he can have a brother. Samantha would like the baby to sleep in her room. Elizabeth would like the baby to have brown hair so that more kids in the family would look like her. Then the conversation turned to names. Here are some of their favorites: Elizabeth wants: Sarah, Eva, Evelyn, or Eve, and if it is a boy Phineas or Ferb Samantha wants: Sam or Ammon John Derek wants: Johnny Maddison wants: Cinderella and Johnny So here we go. Taking on a new adventure of 5 children with faith that we are following our Father in Heaven's desires for our family. In this last conference Pres. P

Elizabeth

My darling Elizabeth is so wonderful.  At Church I had the pleasure of talking to different people about the great girl she is.  I was in the mother's room, feeding Michael, and talked to two other moms.  We were discussing the joys and difficulties of raising children.  I talked about how I couldn't do it without my Elizabeth.  How she is my right hand.  She is so good and stepping in and making breakfast or lunch.  She loves to make pancakes with chocolate chips.  She is great with Michael.  I know that I can give him to her and he will be well taken care of.  As soon as we pull into the garage she exclaims, "I'll get Michael!" then leaps out of the car and takes him out.  I don't know what I would do without her.  When Michael was first born and I was constantly feeding, sleeping, and trying to hold the house together she did so much.  She was such a huge help.  She is going to be a great mother some day.  She is so good at talking to children and
